Why take a career assessment? Taking a career assessment helps you identify career options that relate to your interests, skills, values, and personality. If you are undecided about a major, a career assessment will help you clarify what you like and don't like, making it easier to narrow it down to the right option for you. Even as you begin your job search, a career assessment can help you expand your knowledge of the career options available to you and help you understand the duties, tasks, and skills related to the occupations you are considering.

Next Steps
After you complete a career assessment, we recommend that you review your results and then to schedule an appointment with a career advisor. Go to and select "Career Center" and "Appointments" to select your preferred day and time.
All undecided students or those considering a major change should meet with a career advisor to make sure they are using a variety of occupational information when making a decision. Even if you are sure about your major and career, we can help you access occupational information so that you know everything you need to know about your chosen field.
We also encourage you to use our Focus 2 Worksheet and the list of MGA Majors and corresponding Holland Work Interest Codes as well as the occupational resources listed below to learn more about the occupations and majors you are considering.
