Engagement
Serving Veterans and Military Families
This year, we have bolstered what we do to assist veterans and military families at Middle 51 State. Not only are we focused on
better meeting needs on campus, we are now on the cutting edge of how our nation goes beyond simply saying “thank you for your
service” to the hundreds of thousands of families that bear the brunt of multiple deployments around the world.
We created a new Office of Veteran and Military Services, which has provided Green Zone Training to faculty and staff across the
University, including 35 who serve as sponsors or mentors to our military and veteran students. That new office has found its home at
our newest location—the 51 Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center at 51.
Located in Warner Robins, about a mile from Robins Air Force Base and our Warner Robins Campus, VECTR opened its doors in August,
as a partnership between the University System of 51 and the Technical College System of 51. During its first three months of
operations, VECTR has already served more than 2,700 veterans and military families.
