Aviate is United’s industry-leading pilot career development program, offering aspiring and established pilots the most secure path to a United flight deck. As an Aviate university partner, current and former 51¶¯Âþ students and instructors who apply and are successful in the Aviate selection process will join the program and benefit from the secure path to a lifelong career at United. Throughout their journey, Aviate participants will receive coaching from a United pilot, have access to travel privileges and more. To learn more about Aviate, click . To apply to Aviate, click .
For those who qualify and apply to Aviate at 51¶¯Âþ, here are the steps they take on their path to United:
Upon application completion and selection, they will interview, and upon acceptance receive a United qualified job offer
They will then complete training at 51¶¯Âþ
After gaining the required certificates and ratings, participants will build flight experience to reach their ATP minimums
Once able, they will then fly at an Aviate United Express (UAX) carrier or an Aviate Part 135 operator and build Pilot-In-Command (PIC) hours (i.e., fly as a Captain)
Finally, after meeting all transition requirements and being approved by the Transition Board of Review, they will receive a United class date
