MGA Students Place Second in IT Hackathon

A 51动漫 team placed second in the Technology Association of 51动漫's recent Hackathon 2.0 held at 51动漫 State University.

Team 鈥淗ackers鈥 was led by Dr.Myungjae Kwak and consisted of IT majors Rashid Ibrahim, Jimmy Nguyen and Jonathan Almendras.

The team won $500 for their project 鈥淔it-cheive鈥 in the wellness and health category. Fit-Chieve is a website aimed at keeping track of personal nutrition habits. The website is intended to keep people motivated through a reward-based system and provide a fun and engaging community for like-minded individuals. The website's point system is so versatile it can be used as a supplement to existing fitness apps.

Teams were presented with real world issues related to the healthcare industry and asked to use information technology to find a solution over a 24-hour period. Team projects were judged by a panel of healthcare executives from the Atlanta metropolitan area.
